The motivation for learning (and teaching) project management is the career profile in the future jobs of GI graduates. Know-how and expertise in project management is recommended by 2/3 of current GI professionals.

This module provided an overview, what projects and project management are. This course is based on the definition of five phases of the TPM life cycle:

• Scope the project
• Develop the project plan
• Launch the plan
• Monitor/control project progress
• Close out the project.

One of the major tasks of a GI professional is project acquisition, in academia as well as in industry. This module outlines guidelines for how to acquire a project and how to write a project proposal.
