| Housing in Münster |
|
First come, first serve! The housing situation in Münster is changing permanently. As one fifth of the city's residents are students, it is difficult to find an apartment especially before the start of the winter semester in October. Please start searching the housing market in time. Below, you'll find a number of appropriate links with apartment listings and rooms to let: 1. Apartment and room listings at the "Studentenwerk", the universitie's body supplying student's halls of residence, refectories etc.:
2. The most popular magazine for small advertisements in Münster, "nadann...", publishes many private room lets for flat-sharing-communities. The best idea is to read the printed version (it's for free) with a wider range of offers. For the online version, follow here... (German language only) 3. "Nanu", another magazine for small advertisements in Münster, provides a similiar content as the "nadann...": offers for small apartments, room lets for flat-sharing communities etc., here... 4. If you are looking for a room in a flat-sharing-community or a one bedroom apartment, visit http://www.wg-gesucht.de/. The advertisements are, in difference to most of the links above, in English language! 5. Probably the database with most entries for Germany can be found at http://www.immobilienscout24.de. Usually, you have to pay a broker's fee for the apartments listed here. 6. Another large database can be found at http://www.immowelt.de. Many of this offers are in combination with broker's fees. 7. There are two local newspapers in Münster with a wide range of apartment listings: "Westfälische Nachrichten" and "Münstersche Zeitung". Both provide information online and in the printed versions. To check whether the apartment is close to the Institute's station ("Inselbogen"), check the timetable of Münster's public transport service. As you can reach many points within the city by bike (there is a comfortable system of bicycle paths in the city), also check the total distance here. |
