| Ph.D. Program |

With summer semester 2012, ifgi will start the "Graduate School for Geoinformatics". The Graduate School for Geoinformatics (GSG) provides a structured doctoral education in the interdisciplinary field of Geoinformatics. The concept of the Graduate School relies on the ongoing International Research Training Group (IRTG) on Semantic Integration of Geospatial Integration, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Nevertheless, we still offer students the possibility of doing a "classical" Dr. rer. nat. (Ph.D.) in our department. Universities in Germany usually do not offer Ph.D. "programs" like the "Graduate School for Geoinformatics"; instead, the doctorate is an individual research project completed by a thesis. Interested students should first inquire with their national funding agencies about Ph.D. scholarships, and then contact us about possible research topics and workplace. You can also check our regular job offers for project positions that may allow you to write a Ph.D. besides the job. If interested, please apply with the requested documents. For more information about Ph.D. studies at ifgi, please visit "Graduate School for Geoinformatics", the Ph.D. regulations and the facultys's website. |
